Register of Interests
One of our strategic objectives is “Demonstrating the highest standards of governance, accountability and compliance.” We deliver this objective through having a range of governance policies, processes and systems in place. This includes documents such as:
Entitlements, Payments and Benefits Policy; Declarations of Interest Policy; Gifts and Hospitality Policy and Codes of Conduct for Committee and Staff.
It is a requirement for Committee and Staff to declare any interests that they may have that may have any bearing on Rosehill’s business. For example any links with companies, organisations that Rosehill does or may do business with; if they are closely connected with a tenant or other service user.
Each year Committee and Staff are required to declare any such interests which are then entered into our Register Of Interests. In addition to this, if any matters arise during the year that require a Committee or Staff Member to declare, this will be recorded in our Register of Interests. For example if a relative of a Committee Member qualifies for a house with Rosehill, the interest must be declared and the matter will be referred to the Management Committee for approval before any offer of housing is made. The Committee Member in question is not allowed to take part in the section of the meeting dealing with the matter. More information about these types of interests can be found in the Appendix to our Entitlements, Payments and Benefits Policy.
Our Rules also provide more information about Committee Members’ requirements in relation to interests. See rule 33.7 and 34.1 to 34.3.
